Miguel Álvarez: “We have very similar strengths to Mirandés”

The B team faces another very young team on Saturday at 4:15pm CEST at La Cerámica

Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared at the press conference prior to the match against CD Mirandés, corresponding to Matchday 12 of LALIGA Hypermotion, to be held on Saturday 21st October at 4:15pm CEST at the Estadio de la Cerámica.

Here is what Miguel Álvarez had to say:

Hugo Pérez’s injury

“He was working phenomenally well and when he gets the momentum, he has this serious injury. Young players have to be very strong emotionally, it’s a serious injury that you have to deal with, but he’s at a club like Villarreal, which is an entity where we’re going to look after him so that he can come back stronger. It’s a blow, because it’s a long injury that you have to learn to deal with.”

The opposition

“This opponent is a direct rival for us, because they are a very similar club. A very young team and therefore a nice game with players with a lot of quality that we will end up seeing in professional football. These are three points, and playing at home could be even more vital.”

Fans

“Football without the fans is less football, and the players perform less well, because they carry you when you need them. The other day, for example, against RCD Espanyol they helped us a lot. We love it when the lads come to cheer us on.”

Keys to the match

“Apart from the collective resources, he is going to focus on the individual aspect. Mirandés have a lot of brutally talented players up front, although it’s true that, due to their youth, they have defensive problems. We have very similar strengths and weaknesses.”
