The Yellow Submarine visit Atlético Antoniano aiming to reach the next round of the Copa del Rey (Wednesday, 9pm CET)
Villarreal travel to Lebrija to face Atlético Antoniano in the Second Round of the Copa del Rey, a tie that will be played on Wednesday 3rd December at 9pm CET, at the Estadio Municipal de Lebrija.
The Submarine head back to Andalusian soil in high spirits after their latest and epic league win against Real Sociedad (2-3), inspired by a brilliant Alberto Moleiro, and with the same ambition to continue progressing in the tournament, a competition in which they defeated Ciudad de Lucena 0-6 in their opening fixture.
Tomorrow’s match will be the first of five games (six if the Submarine advance to the Round of 32) that Marcelino García Toral’s side will face in the final stretch of 2025. Throughout the month, Villarreal will play a decisive Champions League clash against Copenhagen and three LaLiga fixtures against Getafe, Levante and Barcelona.
Atlético Antoniano, a humble rival full of enthusiasm
Atlético Antoniano are a Sevillian side competing in Group 4 of Segunda Federación. The Andalusians, who sit 11th with 18 points from 13 matches, will take on the Submarine after an impressive 1-0 win over CD Castellón in the First Round thanks to a goal from Juan Serrano and a strong collective display full of intensity.
Based in Lebrija, the club was founded in 1963 by a supporters’ group known as “Juventud Antoniana”. Led by Spanish coach Lolo Rosano, who previously worked within Sevilla’s youth system, the team play their home matches at the Estadio Municipal de Lebrija, which has an approximate capacity of 3,500 spectators and an artificial pitch.
This will be Atlético Antoniano’s second appearance in the Copa del Rey. Their previous participation came in the 2019/20 edition, when they faced Real Betis and were defeated 0-4.
