The young Portuguese player will line up for Villarreal Women in the 2024/25 season
Villarreal CF have reached an agreement with Sporting Clube de Portugal over a loan deal for Maria Ferreira, who will join the Yellows for the upcoming campaign in Primera RFEF.
More firepower in attack for the Yellows
Maria Rita Garcia Ferreira (02/09/2005, Cortiçadas de Lavre, Portugal), began her career in the youth ranks at CP de Lavre, before joining Sporting Clube de Portugal in the 2017/18 season at U13 level. From the 2021/22 season onwards, she alternated between the B team and the first team and seized her chance in the top flight of women’s football in Portugal, with five goals in 11 matches. Last season she went out on loan to Torreense.
Ferreira has also been capped by her country in the youth levels of the Portugal national team. In 49 appearances, she has scored ten times.
