A real Yellows legend. Manu Trigueros has drawn level with Bruno Soriano and has become the footballer to have played the most official matches for Villarreal CF in its history. The midfielder now has featured in 425 games representing the Yellow Submarine.
Formed in the Yellows Academy, Trigueros has reached this impressive feat aged just 30 years. The Yellows No.14, who has played for the first team for ten seasons now, made his debut against Real Madrid Castilla (2-1) in the second tier of Spanish football on 17th August 2012.
As a Villarreal player, Trigueros won the club’s first UEFA Europa League title, as well as being one of the team’s captains and a key player for the club in the last decade.
The 425 matches he has played include 293 in LaLiga, 53 in the UEFA Europa League, 36 in Segunda, 31 in the Copa del Rey, 11 in the UEFA Champions League and one in the UEFA Super Cup.
