The inclusive tournament kicks off a new season with Tarragona as the first host on 21st, 22nd and 23rd November
LALIGA GENUINE is back for the 2025/26 season. Spain’s most important inclusive tournament returns to Tarragona for the first phase, which will take place on 21st, 22nd and 23rd November at the Mediterranean Sports Hub.
This season, the tournament will also visit Cádiz (31st January and 1st February) and Gijón (7th and 8th March) for the second phase; and Granada (25th and 26th April) and Burgos (30th and 31st May) for the third. Villarreal EDI will compete in Cádiz and Granada during the second and third phases, respectively.
For the first time, the season finale will be held at the facilities of the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (Spanish Football Federation) at Ciudad del Fútbol Las Rozas (Madrid), where the three Fair Play champions and three sporting champions of a season full of surprises will be crowned.
This year, the competition will feature 50 teams from across Spain, with over 1,400 players taking part.
A new challenge for the current LALIGA GENUINE champions
Last season, Villarreal EDI lifted the Compañerismo League trophy in Bilbao, defeating hosts Athletic Club Fundazioa. In the final phase, they also beat the then-leaders Fundación Club Atlético de Madrid and Real Sociedad. The yellow team, who hosted the third phase, enjoyed another dream weekend at the Ciudad Deportiva José Manuel Llaneza, defeating UD Ibiza and Granada CF.
The outstanding achievement of Villarreal EDI was recognised by the Villarreal Town Council last June, when the team was welcomed by Mayor José Benlloch. Following this emotional ceremony, the squad enjoyed a meal at El Ceramista and visited Inmersión Villarreal, placing their trophy in the club’s museum display.
In addition, during the 2025/26 Endavant Gala, Fernando Roig presented the team with a commemorative trencadís. Now, they approach the new season with the same enthusiasm, ready to continue enjoying the sport they love.
Exciting debut against Getafe, Oviedo and Sevilla
Villarreal EDI already know their schedule for the first phase of this season’s LALIGA GENUINE. The Submarino Amarillo will kick off against Getafe CF on Saturday at 10am CET. Later that day, at 4:30pm CET, they face Real Oviedo. On Sunday, from 11am CET, the EDI will play their final match of the weekend against Sevilla CF.
The 16 representatives of Villarreal EDI for this opening stage are: Sergi, Javier, Eric, Juan Ramón, Daniel, Miguel Ángel, Francisco, Adrià, Eduardo, Albert, Emanuel, Andrés, Fernando, Pablo, Erik and Iván. The coaching staff will consist of Marta Cádiz, Rafael Julián, Antonio Jiménez and Sonia Alcón.
