Villarreal Women head coach, Sara Monforte, appeared before the media at the pre-match press conference ahead of the game against UD Granadilla de Tenerife, corresponding to Gameweek 24 of the 2022/23 Finetwork Liga F season. The match will take place on Saturday 1st April, at 12pm CEST, at the Mini Estadi at the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground. Here is what she had to say
Good run of form
“The team are in their best moment of the season. I think we’ve had a few games in which we’ve been picking up points, which is what’s important. It’s clear to us that we have seven games coming up in which we’re playing for it in every match, but the players are clear that they have to be mentally strong. In fact, it’s the only way to achieve our objective. It’s crucial for the team to be strong, to know how to dig in and a win tomorrow would be very important.”
The opposition
“UDG Tenerife are a very difficult team to face, who are now on their best run of the season, with very fast players up front and players in a great moment. They are a team that is very well managed at a tactical level. They also have nothing to lose and that makes them more dangerous.”

“The fans, as we have seen in the last few games, are enjoying themselves. Women’s football is a show and Villarreal always need their support. For us, tomorrow’s game is a final, so their support is sure to help us.”
