Unai Emery underlined his happiness at qualifying for the UEFA Europa League semi-finals
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared remotely in front of the media to analyse the victory over GNK Dinamo Zagreb (2-1), which sealed the Yellows’ place in the UEFA Europa League semi-finals: “To have reached the semi-finals recognises the journey and the hard work of the club in recent years. It is a shame that fans are unable to go to the stadium, but we know that they are with us and we are going to enjoy it with them. We have the chance to take a historic step for a club, which already has a high credibility.”
Villarreal will face Arsenal FC in the next round. The Yellows manager says his side need to go into the game with respect and the right attitude: “We want to continue to play our way, always respecting our rival and not speculating anything. We need to play to win and go into the match with the same sincerity that we’re currently showing. Play the same way and don’t give them chances.”
Finally, the Basque manager underlined his excitement and underlined how he feels like a ‘groguet’ after leading the club to their fifth continental semi-final. “On an individual level, my feelings are like those of all the other ‘groguets’. We want to experience something unique, I’m proud to be able to enjoy European semi-finals with this team.”
