
Elche beat Real Madrid in the final to lift the prestigious youth tournament held at Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa
The 33rd edition of the Pamesa LALIGA FC Futures National Tournament came to a close after four days of top-level youth football at Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa Cerámica, where the competition has been taking place since last Thursday. Hundreds of fans enjoyed some of the country’s finest youth talent, with Elche crowned champions after defeating Real Madrid 3-2 in a thrilling final.
The prestigious U12 tournament got underway with an opening ceremony at Villarreal’s training ground, where all participating teams and players were presented. Action then began on Friday with the group stage, as the 20 teams battled for a place in the knockout rounds.
The best academies in Spanish football competed for the coveted trophy, with a total of 55 matches played at Ciudad Deportiva Pamesa. The tournament culminated in a spectacular final between Elche and Real Madrid, with the Ilicitanos emerging victorious.
Villarreal’s journey at LALIGA FC Futures 2026
Villarreal’s U12 side were eliminated in the Round of 16 after finishing top of Group D. The Yellows secured progression from the group stage with seven points, thanks to victories over Osasuna (0-1) and Atlético de Madrid (0-3), as well as a 2-2 draw against Elche.
In the Round of 16, Villarreal were edged out by Deportivo Alavés in a penalty shootout (5-6) after the match ended goalless in regulation time.
