The Vila-real coach calls on Yellow fans and says that both Villarreal and Valencia know each other well (Saturday, 6pm CEST)
Villarreal Femenino head coach Jordi Ferriols spoke to V Play to preview the first leg of the promotion play-off final, in which the Yellow Submarine will face Valencia CF this Saturday at 6pm CEST at the Mini Estadi of the José Manuel Llaneza Training Ground
“We’re in the final. I think it’s a huge reward for the players, I already said it after the match against Osasuna, they deserve it. We are preparing in the best possible way. If we had already faced Osasuna many times, against Valencia even more, because we also played them in pre-season and in the Cup. Two teams that know each other very well. They have studied us and we have studied them. We will go after their weaknesses and exploit our strengths,” said the Vila-real-born coach.
Ferriols also highlighted the strengths of the opposition: “I expect a very recognisable Valencia. Above all, with that movement that creates uncertainty in the midfield areas. A lot of width and verticality, with players who carry the ball well. A Valencia side that surely has very clear ideas, just like us, and it will be a very competitive match.”
On the other hand, the Yellow coach emphasised the psychological aspect of his players: “The emotional level is important. Very important at this stage. We have to take it into account, although we are very happy with the team’s momentum and prepared for what is coming.”
Finally, he made an appeal to the fans: “The fans are already mobilising. Let’s see if we can fill the Mini Estadi. It would give us a huge boost. I’m sure it would give both the players and the coaching staff a massive boost. I’m sure they will respond as they did against Osasuna. Every bit of support helps.”
