These sports facilities are the seventh to be refurbished by the Yellow Submarine thanks to its €2.3 million donation to the Alcem-se Esport programme
Villarreal CF inaugurated the renovation of Alfafar Municipal Stadium this Wednesday. The venue was completely devastated by the flooding in Valencia but has been rebuilt thanks to the Yellow Submarine’s €2.3 million donation to the Alcem-se Esport programme, a support plan for sports clubs affected by the flooding, promoted by Juan Roig and managed through the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket.
Representing the club at the reopening ceremony were Villarreal’s CEO, Fernando Roig Negueroles, and Villarreal ambassador Marcos Senna.
Seventh stadium restored thanks to Villarreal CF’s donation
Alfafar Municipal Stadium is the seventh football ground to be rebuilt with Villarreal CF’s financial contribution. The football fields at La Torre, Beniparrell, Catarroja, Encrucijadas de Aldaia, Joan Girbés in Algemesí, and Vicente Moreno Stadium in Massanassa have already returned to normal and resumed sporting activity, thanks to the efficient work of the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso.

Following the DANA, over 350 sports clubs across all disciplines required support to resume activities. From the four-million-euro plan presented by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket, Villarreal CF decided to contribute two million euros.
Villarreal collaborates in Valencia CF’s DANA tribute
Villarreal CF will join Valencia CF’s initiative to play the derby in their third kit featuring the Senyera, as a tribute to those affected by the DANA on its first anniversary.
The Yellow Submarine has agreed to wear their second kit at Mestalla to support this tribute led by Valencia CF. With this gesture, Villarreal, alongside Valencia, reaffirm their commitment to the Region of Valencia and its people, underlining that solidarity, unity, and collective effort are values at the heart of Valencian identity.
It is worth highlighting that Villarreal CF has allocated nearly €3 million to rebuild sports facilities in the affected areas and to provide direct assistance to those impacted by the disaster.
