Villarreal will play the return leg at the Estadio de la Cerámica (18^th March)

Villarreal CF now know their opponents for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League. Unai Emery’s side will face Dynamo Kyiv. The away leg takes place on 11^th March at Kyiv’s Olympic Stadium, while the return leg will be on 18^th March at the Estadio de la Cerámica (kick-off times to be confirmed).

Dynamo Kyiv, an old foe in the UEFA Cup

Dynamo Kyiv have reached the Round of 16 after eliminating Club Brugge (1-1 and 0-1) in the previous round. It’s worth noting that the Ukrainian team were in the group stages of this year’s Champions League, finishing third in Group G, a tough group including FC Barcelona, Juventus FC and Ferencváros.

Villarreal know all about facing Dynamo Kyiv in European competition. The Yellow Submarine eliminated the Ukrainian side in the Round of 32 of the UEFA Cup in 2004/05. The Yellows drew 0-0 in the capital of Ukraine, before winning convincingly by a score-line of 2-0 at El Madrigal.
