Villarreal B lost to Tenerife in the pre-season tournament
Villarreal B lost their last pre-season match against CD Tenerife (2-0) in the Trofeo Teide, held in the town of La Orotava in Tenerife. Two headed goals after half an hour sealed the victory in favour of the home side.
The first chance came with a shot from Ontiveros from outside the area after seven minutes with a difficult bounce for Tomeu Nadal. Later, Forés did the same from a very similar position. However, after the half-hour mark, the islanders scored two goals in quick succession, dealing a blow to the Mini Submarine. Alassan gave the Tenerife side the lead with a header that was impossible for Iker to keep out. Then, from a corner, Williams headed in the second.
With the score against them, the B team came out in the second half in search of a comeback and Ontiveros had a great double chance in the opening stages. The positive news in the second half was the debuts of Pablo Navarro and Unai.
In this way, Villarreal B could not get the victory in the Trofeo Teide against a difficult opponent in CD Tenerife before the opening game of LALIGA Hypermotion.
