The coach will lead the C team in the 2025/26 season
Villarreal CF has reached an agreement with David Cifuentes ‘Cifu’ for him to take charge of Villarreal C from the 2025/26 season onwards.
David Cifuentes ‘Cifu’ Martínez (Almassora, 13th August 1984) now begins a new chapter as head coach of Villarreal C after several years of growth within the structure of the Yellows Academy.
Cifu llegó al Submarino Amarillo en la temporada 2021/22 como ayudante del Villarreal B. En la siguiente campaña, el de Almassora cogió las tiendas del Juvenil A, siendo reconocido como el mejor entrenador del Grupo 7 de la División de Honor por los Premios Golsmedia. En las dos últimas campañas, ha vuelto a ejercer como segundo técnico del filial amarillo.
Además, como jugador, Cifu defendió los colores del Villarreal CF en categoría Juvenil.
Cifu joined the Submarine in the 2021/22 season as assistant coach of Villarreal B. The following campaign, the Almassora-born coach took the reins of the U19s (Juvenil A), earning recognition as the best coach in Group 7 of the División de Honor by the Golsmedia Awards. Over the last two seasons, he has once again served as assistant coach of the B team.
As a player, Cifu also wore Villarreal CF colours at youth level.
