Villarreal CF want to return to winning ways at the Power Horse Stadium (Sunday, 4:15pm CEST)

Villarreal CF will visit the Power Horse Stadium on Sunday, with kick-off at 4:15pm CEST, to face UD Almería, on Matchday 32 of the 2023/24 LALIGA EA SPORTS season. The Yellows go into the match ninth in the table with 39 points, eight away from seventh place, which would give access to the UEFA Europa Conference League next season.

Villarreal go into the match after drawing against Athletic Club thanks to a late equaliser at San Mamés (1-1). Marcelino’s side deserved more from the game, but imprecision in the first half and the controversial sending-off of Santi Comesaña stopped them from getting three points.

Almería head into the game after getting their first win of the season against Las Palmas (0-1) two matches ago, and getting a good point against Real Sociedad (2-2) last Sunday. However, the Andalusian side are last in the table, and are deep in the relegation battle with just 14 points.

It has been a difficult season for Almería, who are yet to win at home, but in the first meeting between the two sides this season showed they are a hard-working team who can put their opponent on the ropes. The Power Horse Stadium is not a stadium where Villarreal are traditionally strong, with just two wins from their last seven LALIGA visits there, with the latest coming last season, with Gerard Moreno and José Luis Morales scoring in the 0-2 triumph.
