Aiming to return to winning ways in San Sebastián

Villarreal are looking for a win against Real Sociedad after three draws in which they have deserved more

The Yellows have rediscovered their form, but after a prestigious win against FC Barcelona (3-5), they were held to draws by Cádiz (0-0), Alavés (1-1) and Getafe (1-1), despite deserving more. Against Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena (Friday 9pm), they will be looking to keep the positive momentum going and get back to winning ways.

It will not be an easy game. The team coached by Imanol Alguacil is a very solid team and capable of competing with anyone, as they have shown in Europe and the Copa del Rey. However, Real Sociedad are not at their best in LALIGA EA Sports. Despite beating Mallorca last weekend (1-2), the Txuri-urdin side have not won at home since 26 November against Sevilla (2-1), and Villarreal CF will be looking to take advantage of this clash of dynamics and take all three points.

In the last five games at the Reale Arena, Villarreal CF have recorded three wins, one draw and one defeat, confirming that the ground in San Sebastian has been a good place for the Submarine in recent years. The last victory in San Sebastian was in the 2021/2022 season (1-3), with a great performance by Gerard Moreno.
