Head coach José Rojo ‘Pacheta’ has spoken to Villarreal TV to analyse the match against Chiclana CF (Thursday, 7pm CET). “We come off the back of a league victory that gives us confidence and peace of mind. Now it’s time to turn the page and focus on the cup, a new competition in which we have high hopes and in which we want to go far,” said the coach.
During his comments, the coach from Burgos emphasised the excitement for the Copa del Rey and the utmost respect for the first opponent, Chiclana CF: “The Copa del Rey is wonderful and we have to face it with confidence and seriousness. We approach the tie with the utmost respect for our opponents. That’s why we have to be switched on there, play our game and be the Villarreal we want to be. We’re going to go there to get into the next round.”
Finally, Pacheta warned about Chiclana’s virtues and their good start to the season: “They are a team that has only conceded one goal in seven games. And they conceded it in the first match. They are playing good direct football and have produced some very good results. They haven’t lost yet. The wingers are interesting. They look to play out wide and direct. We are also expecting a packed stadium.”
