Villarreal have completed ten signings and secured two key contract renewals ahead of a demanding season
Villarreal CF has made a major effort this summer to put together a deep, balanced and high-quality squad, aiming to be competitive in a season as demanding as it is exciting, marked by the club’s return to the UEFA Champions League. With nearly 50 matches on the calendar, the Yellow Submarine will count on top-level alternatives in every position under the guidance of Marcelino García Toral.
Transfers
In terms of departures, Kiko Femenía, Raúl Albiol and Eric Bailly ended their time at the club, while Denis Suárez (Deportivo Alavés) and Ramon Terrats (RCD Espanyol) moved on. Danjuma (Valencia CF) and Etta Eyong (Levante UD) also departed, as well as Yeremy Pino and Thierno Barry, who both moved to the Premier League. Álex Baena was transferred to Atlético de Madrid.
As for arrivals, the sporting department focused on youth and international potential with the signings of defenders Renato Veiga, Santiago Mouriño and Rafa Marín. The midfield was reinforced with Alberto Moleiro and experienced Ghanaian international Thomas Partey.
In goal, Arnau Tenas joined the club, while the attack gained firepower with Tajon Buchanan, Manor Solomon, Tani Oluwaseyi and Georges Mikautadze.
Key renewals
The summer window also brought two major renewals: Juan Foyth and Nicolas Pepe.
The Argentine defender extended his contract until 2029, consolidating himself as one of the team’s captains and leaders. Meanwhile, the Ivorian winger, who has rediscovered his best form under Marcelino, has signed on until 2028.
With these moves, Villarreal CF heads into the new campaign full of ambition, ready to thrill its fans across all three competitions.
