Villarreal CF feature in one of the five short films of the LALIGA and Prisa project, highlighting the real story of Pascual and Lluís, father and son united by the Yellow Submarine
Villarreal CF are the protagonists of the fifth chapter of 42 LEGADOS, a project promoted by LALIGA and Prisa as part of the campaign “42 Legacies. 42 Ways to Win”. Under the title “From parents to children”, the short film tells the emotional story of Pascual and Lluís, two Yellow fans with a shared passion: Villarreal CF.
Lluís’ story with Villarreal CF dates back to the 1997/98 season, the year of the club’s first promotion. That was when the family found their place in the stands of the old El Madrigal Stadium thanks to Lluís’ grandmother. From those first matches, Villarreal became more than just a football team, turning into a true family tradition full of shared memories and emotions.
Pascual accompanied Lluís throughout his childhood, guiding every step of his relationship with the Yellow club. Together, they attended first-team training sessions, celebrated each victory and created unforgettable memories. Lluís even became part of the Yellows Academy and experienced matches from the sidelines as a ball boy. Over time, the roles began to reverse. Pascual, who had always guided his son along this path of footballing passion, developed mobility issues that made travelling more difficult. However, their love for Villarreal CF remained unchanged. When the club reached one of the most important moments in its recent history, Lluís did not hesitate to accompany his father to Gdansk to experience an unforgettable night together with the Yellow Submarine.
“From parents to children” reflects this natural transition that marks the passing of time. It shows how a passion passed down becomes a shared legacy, and how the day comes when the one who was once led by the hand to the stadium is the one who ends up taking their father to continue enjoying what unites them. As Lluís himself puts it, “the best moments of my life are pictures tinted in yellow, and I owe that to him.” To Pascual, his father. Because from Pascual to Lluís, the Yellow legacy lives on.
