The Canarian attacker has thanked the Yellows for the trust put in him and promised to work hard to put the club where it deserves to be
Villarreal forward Yeremy Pino appeared this lunchtime alongside president Fernando Roig to formally announced his contract extension with the Yellows until 2027. The Canarian attacker underlined how he was grateful to the club for the trust put in him, and vowed to pay that back with hard work and commitment.
Satisfaction at staying a yellow
“I’m very grateful for the club to have put this trust in me. I’ve grown up with young team-mates in the residence. I’m really appreciative of the help of my family, who have always been alongside me when I’ve needed them to be. I’m really pleased to be here today, I want to give my best for Villarreal to repay the trust they’ve shown in me, and to continue working hard so more nice things come our way.”
Committed to Villarreal CF
“This is the club that has always believed in me. I didn’t think twice about coming here and rejecting other offers. Now, I’m playing in the first team and I’m sharing a dressing room with great players. I’m young, but the club has made things easy for me. I want to be here for many years. I’m happy for the trust they’ve shown and I hope to pay that back with hard work, helping the club and the fans to be where they deserve to be.”
Yeremy, a great example of how the club backs the academy
“Villarreal’s work with the academy is something to be proud of, it’s something I’ve personally experienced. It’s what we reflect. We’re a club based on our academy. I’m really pleased to stay here, at my home. My heart is in Vila-real and it always will be.”
Yeremy’s next objectives with the Submarine
“My aim with Villarreal is to go step by step. Our next aim is to qualify for the UEFA Champions League round of 16. That excites us a lot. In the league, we want to end the season as high up the table as possible. We have a great squad, we need to turn things around and be ambitious.”
Excited to represent his country
“I’m very excited to have been called up to the last two Spain squads. The most important thing is working hard at the club, scoring goals and providing assists here, for them to take you into account.”
Roig: “Villarreal are backing Yeremy and Yeremy is backing the club”
Villarreal president Fernando Roig appeared alongside Yeremy during the press conference to announce the renewal of the winger until 2027. He underlined his satisfaction for the contract extension, and thanked Yeremy for staying playing in yellow: “We’re very happy to be able to announce his contract renewal. We’ve extended his relationship with the club for three more years. He joined the academy aged 14, and he’s become a roel model for the youngest players here.”
The president hailed Yeremy’s big trajectory in such little time: “Aged 19, he’s an important player and a senior international with Spain. He’s won the UEFA Europa League with the club. We want to congratulate him and all his family and we hope he keeps working hard to stay at this level and give his all for Villarreal.”
Roig also underlined that the team wants to continue growing in all aspects: “That’s what we want. In the club, we’re working hard for that. We recently renewed Manu Trigueros and Raúl Albiol’s contract and continue consolidating the project like that.”
Finally, the Villarreal president emphasised how the club backs the academy: “We have nine players in the first team who have spent time in our academy. We believe in it, and we’re really backing our academy. We have the B team leading their Primera RFEF league. Our project is based on the academy. There are many important clubs doing that. We’re on that path. The youngsters know that here they’ll have opportunities to reach the elite.”
