Unai Emery highlighted Villarreal’s great work in Valladolid (0-3)
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery spoke to the media to analyse his team’s brilliant win over Real Valladolid (0-3). The coach highlighted the excellent performance of his players at the José Zorrilla: “We were better overall in the match against a team that we knew would perform at an impressive level. Real Valladolid are a strong team, who like to have the ball and feel comfortable in front of their own fans.”
The Basque manager also pointed out that Villarreal were effective, but that they were also able to defend successfully against their opponents’ attacks: “In the first half, we were superior, but we lacked chances. The second half started with a goal and after that, they were at their best and had their chances. We were patient, we didn’t concede and we were able to take advantage of counter-attacks to win the game.”
