Emery underlined that the Yellows will try and get the three points to stay top of the group
Villarreal CF head coach Unai Emery appeared alongside Álex Baena in the pre-match press conference ahead of the second match of the group stage against Hapoel Be’er Sheva, which will take place tomorrow, at 9pm CEST, at the Turner Stadium. The Basque head coach was ambitious in his hopes to get the three points that would keep the Yellow Submarine top of Group C.
Staying focused
“Playing in Europe is always difficult and we saw that against Lech Poznan. Now that we are playing away from home that difficulty is increased and even more so with their fans, who push the team a lot. We’re expecting a game that is within the difficulty of playing away from home in European competition, but our idea is to win to get closer to our objective, which is to get through the group stage as group winners.”
The opposition
“Hapoel Be’er Sheva are a very dynamic team who are keen to make the most of their moments in Europe. We will try to look for consistency in our play and, beyond the result, try to play a good game to feel strong.”
Keys to the match
“We want to take the game to where we want it, to be able to create chances, to not let them run and, defensively, to stay together and be able to steal the ball as high up the pitch as possible. We want to respect our opponents and deactivate their qualities.”
Danjuma’s return and academy presence
“Danjuma has had two weeks in which he has found more normality after the problems he suffered during the pre-season. He has also been training with the group for the last few weeks, so he will be included in the squad for the game. It’s positive to get him back as soon as possible because of everything he can bring to us. Rodri Alonso, Antonio Pacheco and Dela are travelling from the B team.”
