Quique Setién expects Atlético de Madrid to be looking for the win (Sunday, 6:30pm CEST)

Villarreal CF head coach, Quique Setién, appeared before the media at a press conference ahead of the final game of the season against Atlético de Madrid, which will be played on Sunday at the Estadio de la Cerámica, with kick-off at 6.30pm CEST.

Quique Setién said that it would be great to have one last victory at La Cerámica this season: “It’s been a long season and, as it’s the last game, it’s a special match to be able to win to show the unity between the fans and the players.”

Regarding Atlético de Madrid, who could still reach second place if they beat Villarreal, Setién explained: “They are a great opponent who have had a good season and I’m sure they are going to make us uncomfortable because they can still finish second.”

The Santander-born coach also stressed that Villarreal’s objective in this match is to “finish with a good feeling” and fight until the end for the victory.

Finally, the Yellows head coach had a few words of praise for Yeremy Pino, recently called up to the Spanish national team to play in the Nations League, and Álex Baena, who will play in the Under-21 European Championships: “This shows the level we have. They have done very well throughout the season and I hope they continue to make passes and establish themselves in the national team.”
