Pacheta has underlined the need to be in control of possession of the ball and slow down the speed of the opposition in order to beat Almeria

Villarreal head coach, José Rojo ‘Pacheta’, appeared before the media to analyse the match against UD Almería (Sunday, 4:15pm CEST). This will be the first game for the manager from Burgos in the dugout.

Despite his recent arrival, the head coach was optimistic and believes that he has had time to get his message across: “We’ve only arrived recently, but I think we’ve had time to give them information and we should be able to see some of the ideas we have for the match against Almería.”

When asked about the identity of his new team, Pacheta stressed that he wants a dynamic and exciting team: “We want our team to enjoy itself, but we also want them to make us enjoy ourselves. And that enjoyment is not incompatible with hard work.”

The new coach analysed the virtues of Almería, Villarreal’s next opponents: “This match is the most important one. We are only thinking about this one. They are a very good team, very fast, with young players and a head coach who knows how to handle these situations and the division. We have to be very attentive, as they have a lot of talent in every part of the pitch. They are a strong team, even if they have few points. They have deserved more than what they have got. We have to be very attentive in this match.”

Pacheta has a clear recipe for winning on Sunday: “We have to stop Almeria’s speed and not let them run and, of course, be in control of the game with the ball. That’s the key.”
