Jaume Costa assures that Villarreal will go for the win against AS Roma at the Olimpico
In today’s press conference Jaume Costa assured that Villarreal will face the match against AS Roma head on, in this Thursday’s return leg in the Round of 32 of the UEFA Europa League (7pm CET), despite the bad result in the first leg at the Estadio de la Cerámica. With confidence restored after the 0-1 win picked up at the Anoeta stadium against Real Sociedad, the left back stressed that “we’ve got our pride and we’re going to respond in Rome”. The defender has played 1,823 minutes, split into 21 matches between the LaLiga Santander (17), UEFA Champions League Play-offs (1), UEFA Europa League (2) and Copa del Rey (1) competitions.
Jaume Costa also stated that “the result against Roma was a hard blow to take and we went away from the match really down. I didn’t think it could end like that, I thought it was more even than the way it finished, but they’re a great team and their goals killed us”.
“People may not believe that we can make a comeback, but we must believe we can, go out there 100% and attempt it. It’s very difficult, practically impossible, but we must believe that we can pull it back and go out there and try to do that, and get rid of the bad feelings left from the first leg”.
