Miguel Álvarez emphasised Villarreal B’s excitement ahead of their first season in Primera RFEF
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared in front of the media this morning in a press conference previewing this Saturday’s game against San Fernando CD Isleño (7:30pm CEST), corresponding to the opening matchday of Primera RFEF Group 2.
Primera RFEF
“We’re very excited, because it’s a new division and at the moment we’re all Segunda B teams. It’s a good group. We are going to have fun competing because there are big teams and great stadiums.”
San Fernando CD Isleño
“It’s our first outing after a pre-season that we grew into. We don’t have much information about our opponent, because they haven’t played many pre-season games. Half of the squad is new, and the coach is too, but I know him and how he likes to line up. They’re a team with a lot of players who like getting on the ball, a team that will be in a process of constructing a side like many others, and because of that, it won’t be easy.”
The return of fans
“Something new for this game will be the public, which is very important for the home team. Above all, for fans who have great support like they do. They get behind their side a lot.”
Objectives for the season
“We are very happy. We have ten new players and practically all of our squad have experience in Segunda B. In football you never know, but I think this year we should be OK. I don’t want to lose the excitement or the joy that I transmit to the players. Nor the energy. I want to enjoy my job, which is great. I work for them and to help them, so that at the end of the season the boys are towards the top of the table.”
