Gerard Moreno, named MOTM of the UEFA Super Cup underlined that the team kept their heads high after the defeat against Chelsea. “Pride, that can be the word that best sums up today. We need to be very proud of our performance, and of our fans, who also pushed us on,” underlined the Catalan striker.
The forward also emphasised that the game could have ended up with the Yellows winning, as they also had chances. “We prepared the match very well. We knew we were going to have our chances. We had a number of chances against a team that defend very well. We need to leave with our heads high, but when you compete like that you can’t criticise anything.” He also wanted to thank the fans: “Yesterday they also came to the training session to support us. In the match, even when we were losing, you could still hear them. You need to thank them because at times like this, travelling isn’t easy. They will be frustrated, but proud.”
The goalscorer in the Super Cup final recently renewed his contracted until 2027: “I feel like I’m valued here, I’m confident. I’m in a good moment and my family also give me this stability. I’m in the best place to continue going and enjoying,” he added.
