Javi Calleja emphasises his players’ great performance against Celta de Vigo
Villarreal CF Manager, Javi Calleja, was very satisfied with his team’s performance against RC Celta at the Estadio de la Cerámica (4-1). “We witnessed a great game tonight. In the first half there were many options and we interpreted the spaces they left for us well. We were effective with a spectacular performance from Carlos Bacca”.
For the Villarreal Manager, the victory was vital: “These three points take us closer to our aim. There’s less and less of the season left and the margin for error is smaller. Now we can’t slip up. This victory gives us confidence for the game against Valencia at home next week”.
In his analysis of the match, Calleja stressed that both teams had their chances: “The match started off a bit crazy, with chances for both teams. We knew Celta were going to make things difficult for us, but we hit them harder. The result is fair and I’m going away very happy with everyone’s work tonight. For us it was a final and we came away with the result we wanted”.
