Miguel Alvaréz underlined the need of performing well to beat the side from Alicante
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez underlined this lunchtime that the team is in good shape ahead of this weekend’s tie with CF La Nucía (Sunday, 5:30pm CEST). He emphasised the importance of the match at the Camilo Cano Olympic Stadium: “It’s a very important game, as the weeks go by quickly and we can’t lose more points. We know it’s a tough league but that’s no excuse. On Sunday, we will go out to compete and try and come home with the three points.”
Álvarez underlined that the upcoming opponents are one of the hardest working: “La Nucía have a very good team, even if injuries have hurt them a bit. They’re a demanding side that are well set up, and they will fight to be as high up the table as possible. They will make us suffer and we will need to beat them in intensity.”
Álvarez also spoke about the excellent work done by Villarreal CF youth coaches: “We’re aware that we’re dealing with very young footballers. If we are capable of emotionally managing what can happen, I’m convinced that many will have their chance with the first team. What is most important is that when they get there, they are ready and feel they can stay there forever. It’s a sensational satisfaction for all of us who work in the Yellows Academy when we see them make their first-team debuts.”
