Mario regrets knockout from the cup but assures that the Submarine is now focused on the league
Mario wants to turn the page. The right back regrets Villarreal’s elimination from the cup at the hands of Athletic Club, but believes that this defeat should serve the team to keep improving and continue in the pursuit of securing a Champions League spot. “It’s a shame that we were knocked out of the King’s Cup, but now we just have to look forward and try to win our next game, this Saturday against Betis. We were really excited about the cup. Last year we got to the semi-finals and it was a really happy moment for all of us. We have to think about the mistakes we made and make sure they don’t happen again”, he explained.
According to Mario, now is the moment to focus all their efforts on the match against Betis this Saturday: “We are fourth and can start dreaming about finishing the season in this position. This is what we want to achieve. Now, we have to give 100% against Betis”.
