The Villarreal B head coach has underlined the recent good form of UE Atzeneta, the Yellow’sopposition this Sunday (6pm CET)
Villarreal B head coach Miguel Álvarez appeared remotely before the media this Friday to analyse the upcoming game with UE Atzeneta (Sunday, 6pm CET). The Mini Submarine boss began by emphasising the good form of the Valencian team: “They’ve been getting some really positive results recently. As a recently promoted team, it’s been a challenge for them to adapt to the higher standard of football, but they’re in really good form at the moment. They started the season deserving more points than they actually managed to get, but now they’re picking up some really good results, and everything is running smoothly”.
He then went on to analyse their standout qualities: “They’re a side with a very clear idea of how they want to play. They use the wings really well and are very strong from set-pieces. They have players with great individual ability, and are a well-drilled team who never lose their identity”.
In order to pick up the three points at the Mini Estadi, Álvarez stressed the need to be precise with the ball, and efficient without it: “In some of our recent games at home, we have been imprecise with the ball. We need more precision in our passing if we want to play our game, and in Alcoy, we managed that. If we play like we know we can and dominate the ball, we are a much stronger team, conceding less and creating more opportunities for ourselves. On the other hand, it’s also important to be efficient out of possession”.
Finally, he had some words of support and encouragement for Maxi Villa, who was seriously injured last week: “It’s such a shame, he is a fantastic young man and a very good professional. We all love him here at Villarreal, he is strong and really happy to be here with us. After such a heavy blow, we have to stay strong. In Alcoy, the boys responded by playing so well. We’re all with Maxi”.
