Villarreal CF President, Fernando Roig, assured that now is the time to be more excited than ever ahead of an exciting season in which the Submarine will compete in the UEFA Europa League, LaLiga and Copa del Rey. “We are within the twenty best teams in Spain, among the best 70 in Europe and we are going to play in the Copa del Rey, and we’re really excited about that. The players and the manager are very excited and aware. So many would like to be in our situation, with a great stadium and a very good feeling about the season. It was a disappointment not to get through to the Champions League, but it continues to be very exciting”, he commented.
For the head of the Yellows, the fans have the opportunity to enjoy supporting their team at El Madrigal stadium: “There is a nervousness, which I don’t know if it is because we’re setting our standards too high. People need to appreciate what they have. We all would have liked to have played in the Champions League, which for whatever reason has not been possible, but we have achieved something very significant which is to play in the Europa League, a great competition. This nervousness cannot be in the stadium”.
