Castillejo back fit after some minor injuries and optimistic about the end of the season
Samu Castillejo says there are no limits for the Submarine. The Yellow number 19 is optimistic about the end of the season: “We’ve got an exciting month and a half left. We have many collective and individual challenges in front of us. And we hope to come out on top as much in LaLiga as in the Europa League. We deserve to be in this situation. We want to secure fourth place and enjoy the Europa League by going all the way. We are in two competitions and we have to take our opportunities in both”.
The Young Malaga native also assured that he has completely recovered from some of the niggles that stopped him being able to compete for Spain U21s last week: “I’ve recovered completely now. I’ve spent all week getting better. I feel good physically and this is really important for my game. I have to keep going until the end. Adapting is not easy and to finish well would be very significant for me”.
With regard to the next league match against SD Eibar (Sunday, 6:15pm CET), Samu Castillejo was wary of the difficulty of this away game: “Eibar are a tough opponent. At home they made it difficult for us and went away with a point. We’ve gone a few weeks without winning away from home and so this is a challenge for us now. We have to give an extra push to get the three points away from home. To win every Sunday will send out a strong message”.
To finish, the Yellows’ skilful winger added that to go on in the Europa League won’t be easy by any means, as he recognises the danger of their Quarter-final opponent, AC Sparta Prague: “We’ve come through two ties and we weren’t the favourites in either. Now that we are, we can’t get too confident and think we’ve already beaten Sparta. We have to take it step by step if we want to get to the final”.
