Unai Emery underlined that his team put in a complete performance against Granada CF
Villarreal head coach Unai Emery appeared in front of the media to analyse the Yellows’ brilliant victory over Granada CF (0-3): “Today’s game is the result of the development process that the team is experiencing. We are maturing and learning from errors we have made. Today, we put in a complete performance. We showed a high level of competitiveness from the start to the end.”
The Basque manager used the press conference to praise Gerard Moreno, the man of the match after his hat-trick: “He’s a player who’s in great form. He is full of confidence, and he feels his team-mates support him. Gerard gives us goals, presence, quality and hard work.”
During the press conference, Emery underlined that the win strengthens the Submarine as they try and fight for the European spots: “Today we had a challenge: win three games in a row in LaLiga. Until today, we hadn’t done that. We are continuing to fight for the Europa League. We needed this win to compete against Real Sociedad and Real Betis.”
Finally, he underlined his satisfaction at getting players back to full fitness for the final straight of the season: “Getting players back makes us more competitive, and gives us options in different positions. It helps us improve as a team.”
