Manu Trigueros underlined Villarrreal’s excitement ahead of a historic event such as the UEFA Super Cup
Villarreal footballer Manu Trigueros appeared in front of the media in a press conference ahead of the UEFA Super Cup against Chelsea at Windsor Park (Wednesday, 9pm CEST).
Trigueros underlined that Villarreal will work hard to try and win the continental title: “Tomorrow, we will have a good opportunity to play such a match as important as the UEFA Super Cup against a big opponent. We are excited to try and put in a great performance, we are going to work hard to try and go away with the trophy.”
The Villarreal No.14 underlined that the Yellows’ chances of winning depend on them having the ball and not conceding many spaces at the back: “We want to play our game, get the ball off them, don’t let them run because they’re good with space and they’re very strong physically. We need to take the game to where we want to take it.”
Finally, the midfielder backed his team to enjoy a historic game against the European champions: “Being here is a prize and we want to be able to enjoy it competing against a great rival such as Chelsea. This year we will also be playing in the Champions League, against the best.”
