Villarreal to contribute €2m to ‘Alcem-se Esport’

The club will give this money entirely for the reconstruction of football pitches affected by the flooding in Valencia

Villarreal CF has decided to make a donation of two million euros to ‘Alcem-se Esport’, the aid plan for sports clubs affected by the flooding in Valencia, promoted thanks to the sporting philanthropic support of Juan Roig, which is channelled through the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket Club. The Yellows’ contribution will be used entirely for the reconstruction of football pitches in the parts of Valencia that have been hit by the recent devastation and will be managed by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso.

This charity project was created with the aim of promoting and recovering the sports ecosystem in the province of Valencia devastated by the floods of 29th October. Through this aid plan, the aim is to speed up the return to sporting normality in the affected localities.

After the catastrophe, more than 350 sports clubs of all disciplines need support to resume their activities with some degree of normality. The plan presented by the Fundación Trinidad Alfonso and Valencia Basket last week amounts to €4 million.

The €2 million donated by Villarreal to the ‘Alcem-se Esport’ project is in addition to the contribution of €500,000 for Cáritas and the Red Cross that the club already made a few days after the natural catastrophe suffered in Valencia.
