This new technology can be used for the next match against RCD Espanyol at La Cerámica
Villarreal CF have implemented digital season tickets with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology to access the remaining home games at the Estadio de la Cerámica in the 2024/25 season.
Season-ticket holders can now download the NFC season tickets by accessing the season ticket portal and use them to enter the Estadio de la Cerámica for the next match against RCD Espanyol (Monday 3rd March, 9pm CET).
In recent seasons, the club has already made season tickets available in digital format using the QR code. From now on, it can also be used wirelessly (NFC), allowing season tickets to be stored in the digital wallet of the device (smartphones or smart watches). Season-tikcet holders will be able to log in by simply bringing the device close to the circular wireless reading icon located at the top of the turnstile. This will facilitate and speed up access to the stadium, with the aim of avoiding long queues before the Submarine’s home games.
The NFC season tickets will be available on both iOS devices (the Wallet app on your iPhone or Apple Watch) and Android (the Google Wallet app on your Android phone or Smartwatch), the same devices where the season ticket was available last season.
QR code and physical card
Digital ID cards will also continue to have the usual QR code for all those season ticket holders whose mobile device, for whatever reason, does not have NFC or does not work with this technology.
Fans with a physical season ticket will also be able to access as normal. The NFC, the QR and the physical season ticket will not be incompatible: in the event that you have a physical season ticket, but you want to use your NFC Season Ticket, you will be able to use either of the two to enter the stadium; however, once the physical season ticket has been scanned, the digital one will no longer allow entry, and vice versa.

Villarreal CF will send an email to notify season ticket holders of this new type of season ticket. In addition, in the ‘NFC’ section of the club’s website -located in the FANS section- you will find more information and answers to the most frequently asked questions so that you can find out the steps to follow to add the tickets and have them available on your personal electronic devices.
