The 42 LaLigaSantander and LaLiga SmartBank teams have organised a charity fundraising shirt auction to help those affected by the volcano eruption in La Palma
Villarreal CF has joined the other clubs in the top two flights of Spanish football in taking part in a charity fundraising auction, organised by LaLiga in collaboration with UD Las Palmas and CD Tenerife. During the next matchday, the clubs will give their shirts to help those affected by the volcano eruption in La Palma, with the funds raised from the auction going to help the needs of those in La Palma.
It will be an online auction through MatchWornShirt, which has large experience in charity actions like this, having worked with more than 160 football clubs across Europe, including 14 sides in LaLiga. The aim of this campaign will be to raise as much money as possible through the auction of shirts of players from the upcoming LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank matchday.
The campaign will be visible on social networks via the hashtag #LaLigaConLaPalma, and will start today, Friday 15th Octeober, with the start of the matchday in both competitions, and will have maximum visibility during the Canarian derby between UD Las Palmas and CD Tenerife on Saturday 16th October at 6:15pm CEST. Each auction will start after the final whistle of each game, and will last 20 days (until 3rd November), until when there will be a campaign of visibility both nationally and internationally.
