Our new Turkish player Enes Ünal was enthusiastic at his presentation as a Yellow Submarine player
Enes Ünal has met his new supporters. The Turkish striker was presented to the fans yesterday as a new player for Villarreal CF. The ceremony was held at Ermita de la Mare de Deu de Gracia in Villarreal and was led by club President Fernando Roig.
Ünal is excited about this new phase with the Yellow Submarine: “Before I came I inquired about what the club was like, I came to Villarreal to visit the facilities and I realized it was the perfect club for me”.
According to the forward, the relationship with his teammates is great, but will improve when he speaks more Spanish: “I have been welcomed very well. Gradually I will be learning Spanish and everything will be much easier. I’m good with learning languages and I get along very well with everyone”.
The striker even dared to utter his first words in Spanish. “Good afternoon. I’m happy to be here at the club, and Endavant Villarreal!”. Finally, Ünal promised commitment on the pitch: “I cannot promise any number of goals, but what I can promise is that I will give everything for the team”.
The presentation ended with gift-giving to the fans by Ünal, who also took photos with them and signed autographs.
The Turkish striker is one of two signings made by Villarreal CF this season. The other is Portuguese centre back Ruben Semedo. Ünal arrived from Manchester City FC, although last season he was on loan at FC Twente (19 goals in 33 games).
