UCD La Cañada Atlético and Escola de Futbol Gavà will work with the yellows on forming young talents
Villarreal CF has reached a collaboration agreement with UCD La Cañada Atlético and Escola de Fútbol Gavà. The Andalusian entity and the Catalan school will co-operate with the Yellows in forming young footballers, becoming affililated clubs of the Submarine.
After signing the agreements, Villarreal CF director of football Miguel Ángel Tena underlined his satisfaction at working with two leading academies in their regions: “We’re very happy to be able to sign both agreements. We’ve analysed to the closest of details the work they have been doing for many years regarding youth football. They are two clubs that are run excellently and that have values that we identify with. This agreement will help us grow together.”
La Cañada Atlético president José Miguel Romero emphasised that the agreement is something that will be hugely beneficial for them: “With this collaboration, we will try and improve the technical and tactical formation alongside Villarreal, and of course, captation too, where our club will try and be an important ally for Villarreal in the province of Almería. Our players have the chance to take the step to join the Submarine, as well as taking part in training sessions in their facilities.”
Ramón López, Escola de Fútbol Gavà’s sporting director, also was positive about the collaboration: “We’re very excited about the agreement and being able to collaborate with this project of forming young athletes. We are looking forward to starting this new era linked to a model entity that is Villarreal CF.”
The clubs with affiliations to Villarreal CF in terms of formative football are the following: CD Roda, UD Vall de Uxó, CE Vila d’Onda, Benicarlo, FB, Primer Toque CF, CD Oliver, Lacross Babel CF, Mislata UF, CD EB Ontinyent, CD Floresta, Elda Unión, ADIUR, UCD La Cañada Atlético and Escola Futbol Gavà.
