The Submarine beat RCD Mallorca comfortably at the Estadio de la Cerámica to get three points
Villarreal beat RCD Mallorca 3-0 at the Estadio de la Cerámica by playing well, and got the three points needed to return to feeling good after the defeat in Elche. The Submarine did their homework, and got the victory thanks to an own goal, a goal from Manu Trigueros, who has now equalled his best ever goalscoring season (seven in 2016/17) and a penalty taken perfectly by Dani Parejo.
Vicente Iborra had the first chance of the game with a header that ended up being deflected out for a corner. Not long later, the first goal arrived, with Franco Russo scoring an own goal. Almost immediately straight after, Moi Gómez could have made it 2-0, but Leo Román saved his shot from inside the box well.
