Unai Emery’s side will return from their holidays for medical tests prior to the start of pre-season training
The date for Villarreal CF to get back to work has been confirmed. The first team squad will officially start preseason training on Thursday 8th July to undergo the routine medical and fitness tests before getting back to training. In addition to these tests, players will also undergo covid-19 tests due to the continued pandemic. The start date for training is subject to the completion of medical tests (11th or 12th July).
So far, Villarreal CF have two pre-season friendlies confirmed. The Yellows will play their first preparation game against Valencia CF on Friday 16th July at the Oliva Nova facility (time TBC). Subsequently, the Yellows will face Budapest Honvéd on Saturday 24th July for the inaugural match at the spectacular Bozsik Arena (time TBC).
Unai Emery’s squad will officially start the season on 11th August as the Yellows take on Chelsea FC in the UEFA Super Cup final at Windsor Park (Belfast, Northern Ireland). Furthermore, the Real Federación Española de Fútbol (Spanish Football Federation) has announced that LaLiga will kick off on the weekend of 15thAugust.
