In the Fan Zone, there was an area devoted to making fans aware of fire safety
For yet another year, Villarreal CF wanted to support Castellón Firefighters’ Assocation’s Fire Prevention Week, which will run until Sunday 1st December. In the Estadio de la Cerámica Fan Zone, there was an information area which helped fans become aware of fire safety before the match against RC Celta. The Fire Prevention Week is organised by the Castellón local government, through the Castellón Firefighters’ Association, Fundación Mapfre and the Professional Firefighters’ Union.
This year, there will be 25 activities and workshops that will take place until Sunday 1st December, including the anticipated – especially by youngsters – open days at firestations in Onda, Llucena, Morella, Benassal, Atzeneta del Maestrat, Oropesa, Nules, Benicarló and Segorbe.
The campaign is hoping to reach an audience of 15,000, trying to give them basic prevention information to avoid fires,or if they have started, to minimise their consequences.
The activities will take place in 11 schools in the province of Castellón, reaching 2,000 students. The campaign will also collaborate with charities for the aged and housewives.
Each year, a town in the province becomes the epicentre of the events, this time is it Oropesa del Mar.
The campaign hopes that every day more people will have more knowledge about fire prevention and safety, and that it is shared via word of mouth.
