The Catalan side punish the Mini Submarine in a bad second half for the home team
Villarreal B lost convincingly to CE Sabadell. The away side came away from the Mini Estadi with victory, punishing the Yellows’ poor second half, with the Mini Submarine giving too much to a quality opposition who were clinical.
After a tight first half with few chances, the second half started with a goal just after the interval. CE Sabadell went ahead through Jacobo, who beat Iker Álvarez after capitalising on a ball over the top of the Yellows’ defence.
It was a shock for Miguel Álvarez’s side, who did not react and only ten minutes later, they conceded the second after an error in defence. The Catalan side used these moments of uncertainty to get a third and definitive goal. Boniquet made it 0-3 from a free-kick out wide. He crossed the ball into the box, and while it didn’t find anyone, it hit the post and ended up in the back of the net.
With 0-3 and nothing to lose, Villarreal B pushed forward and tried to get a goal back. The best chance went to Nikita Iosifov, who was unable to take it. His effort was saved well by the CE Sabadell goalkeeper.
