The Yellows beat FC Wil with goals from Ferrari and Tasende
Villarreal B kicked off the 2023/24 pre-season by taking on FC Wil 1900 at the Buechenwald sports facilities in the town of Gossau. The Yellows were able to overcome the Swiss Second Division side thanks to goals from debutant Andrés Ferrari and Dani Tasende.
Miguel Álvarez put out two completely different teams for each of the two halves of the game. In the first 45 minutes, where neither team was able to score, players such as Antón Efremov, Jorge Pascual and Jonny Arriba made their debuts for the Yellows, while others such as Lanchi, Aitor Gelardo and Jonny Arriba himself returned to the yellow jersey after a year away from Vila-real.
In the second half, recent signing and U20 World Cup winner Andrés Ferrari put the Yellows ahead in the 56th minute after heading in an excellent cross from Dani Tasende.
In the 73rd minute, Tasende made the difference on the scoreboard by scoring from the spot to make it 0-2, which would be the final score of the match.
Villarreal B, after the 0-2 win against FC Wil 1900, will play another match on Swiss soil next Tuesday, with kick-off at 7pm CEST, against FC Winterthur.
