The B team had countless chances to take all three points
A lack of goals. Villarreal B forgave Cornellà away from home and only earned a point despite having countless chances to score.
The first big chance fell to the Catalan side. It didn’t end in a goal because Dani Tasende made a superb goal line clearance when the ball was on its way in (m. 9).
The B team responded soon after. In the 18th minute, Jackson received a long pass and attempted to lob Lucas. The ball went narrowly wide.
Villarreal B gradually took control of the game. They had clear chances to open the scoring. First, with a free kick by Lozano that went wide. Later, with a double chance for Jackson, who failed to take advantage of a cross from the left by Tasende, and finally, Lucas made a great save from Arana’s effort.
In the second half, the script was the same. Villarreal B had the clearest chances, although without success. Jackson, twice, and Arana had the goal in his hands. Despite this, the initial scoreline remained unchanged.
