The B team continue their good run against a hard-working Betis Deportivo side, staying unbeaten in Primera RFEF
Villarreal B won yet another Primera RFEF Footters game. The Yellows beat Betis Deportivo (1-2) at the Luis del Sol Training Ground and now have seven wins and a draw from eight games, staying unbeaten, thanks to an impressive performance away from home with goals from Juan Carlos Arana and Diego Collado. The game, however, was affected by a heavy blow on Iker Álvarez.
The match, which was even throughout the 90 minutes, started with both teams wanting to have possession and press high in the opposition half. The first chance fell to Arana, who tried to replicate his goal from last week, with his effort being saved well by Marc Vidal. Later, Betis’ goalkeeper from Vila-real managed to keep his fomrer side out, needeing two attempts to save Nicolas Jackson’s effort from the edge of the box.
With around 40 minutes on the clock, Andorran goalkeeper Iker Álvarez suffered a strong blow to his head, when Mizzian’s knee hit him in a 50-50 ball. Medical staff from both teams attended to him, with him luckily leaving the pitch conscious, but on a stretcher.
Due to the injury, the referee added nine minutes at the end of the first half, and in the first of them, Arana scored the opener with a brilliant lob, something which he is becoming a specialist at. Villarreal B went to the dressing rooms ahead on the scoreboard.
In the second half, the home side tried to draw level, showing more intensity. Both teams had chances. Carlo Adriano and Collado tried their luck with efforts from outside the box, but it was Betis who scored. Juan Cruz levelled, and Villarreal B had to dig in to go back ahead. Collado, with a powerful volley, gave the Yellows the win in the closing stages.
Next up for Villarreal B is a home game against FC Andorra on Saturday 23rd October at 9pm against FC Andorra at the Mini Estadi at the Villarreal CF Training Ground.
