The Yellows lose 0-3 to UD Ibiza in a match with little between the two sides until the closing stages
Villarreal B lost 0-3 to UD Ibiza at the Mini Estadi. The match ended with a result that was not a fair reflection of what had happened on the pitch, where it was a tight match until late on.
Both sides put in an impressive first half, which had a high tempo and chances for both sides. It was not until the second half when Ibiza opened the scoring, making the most of an error in defence by the Mini Submarine to go ahead through Castel.
The blow of conceding the goal did not affect the Yellows’ morale, as they pushed for the equaliser. Their hard work and attacking efforts did not pay off, and Ibiza made the most of space at the back, scoring two counter-attacking goals through Rodado.
Despite the defeat on the last day of the first stage of the league season, the Mini Submarine have confirmed their place in the Primera RFEF division next season, and in April will start the second stage of the season, looking to win a place in the promotion play-offs to Segunda División.
