The B team beat Albacete with goals from Lozano, Pacheco and Nikita Iosifov and lead the table
Villarreal B got another win and stay at the top of the table. This time, they overcame Albacete Balompié thanks to goals from Sergio Lozano (from the penalty spot), Antonio Pacheco and Nikita Iosifov. The away side ended the match with ten men after a red card to Gálvez in the 67th minute (3-0).
The match was exciting from the opening minute. Both teams fought for every ball. There were not many opportunities early on, but when the chances did come, they were good ones.
Villarreal B went ahead in the 24th minute. Ahn was pulled down in the box after a short corner. Lozano stepped up and fired home from 12 yards (1-0).
After the goal, the away side pushed forward, with Villarreal B capitalising on that to look dangerous from counter attacks.
In the second half, Albacete were left with ten men. Gálvez brought down Nicolás Jackson when he was going through on goal. A straight red in the 67th minute.
Only three minutes later it was 2-0. Jackson shot, Dragan Rosic parried it out and Pacheco, who had just come on, fired the ball into the back of the net (m.70).
The final goal of the game, which made it 3-0, came from Nikita, who capitalised on a low cross from the right by Diego Collado to calmly finish at the far post (m.82).
Next up for Villarreal B is a home match at the Mini Estadi against Llagostera-Costa Brava (Sunday 26th September, 12pm CEST).
