Today professionals in the sector gathered in the Villarreal CF Training Ground and El Madrigal stadium
An example to follow. This morning a technical conference was held at the Villarreal CF Training Ground (Ciudad Deportiva) and El Madrigal stadium for those responsible for the maintenance of several Spanish First Division and Second A Division clubs, as well as several professionals from companies that specialize in this sector. The reason: to observe the innovative hybrid grass that Villarreal CF installed at the start of the season in El Madrigal stadium, Mini Estadi at the Villarreal CF Training Ground and on the First Team training pitch. Currently, the appearance of the three fields is unbeatable. A huge success.
It should be recalled that at the start of the season, when the grass was being planted, there was another technical conference and today was the second time the group got together. Since the campaign started, many clubs have been interested in this innovative system of hybrid grass in which Desso synthetic fibres are injected into the grass, with the aim that the roots of the natural grass will curl around the artificial fibres and therefore offer a more stable and lasting pitch (Desso GrassMaster).
The Villarreal CF head of maintenance, Vicente Alpuente, was in charge of giving the tour of the different facilities. In addition, he gave an informative speech in the audiovisual room at the Villarreal CF Training Ground and the attendees also enjoyed a delicious lunch in the ‘Entrelíneas’ restaurant in El Madrigal.
This method has also been successfully used in big stadiums like the Allianz Arena (Bayern Múnich), Parque de los Príncipes (Paris Saint Germain), Etihad Stadium (Manchester City), Emirates Stadium (Arsenal FC), Stamford Bridge (Chelsea FC) and Old Trafford (Manchester United), among others.
Furthermore, the Desso GrassMaster was also a success in the most popular international competitions like the 2010 FIFA World Cup (South Africa) and 2014 FIFA World Cup (Brazil), the 2011 Rugby World Cup (New Zealand), the 2012 London Olympic Games and the 2012 UEFA European Championships.
Villarreal CF has been a pioneer in using this innovative method in Spain.
