The Kazakh is grateful for the club helping him get through one of the toughest moments of his life
Vadim Blinov, from Almaty (Kazakhstan), has been supporting Villarreal CF since 2003, but will always be grateful to the Yellows after their support when his house burnt down last year.
Vadim was asleep when his balcony caught fire, damaging his entire home and losing his Villarreal memorabilia. A friend got in touch with the club on his behalf, and the Yellows sent him a shirt and other merchandising to show their support after the fire. The Kazakh says: “I am very grateful to the club for their help when I was in a bad place, I will remember it for all of my life.”
Vladim fell in love with the Submarine after a game against Torpedo Moscow in the UEFA Cup in 2003 and has been a loyal fan ever since. “My favourite player is Mario Gaspar,” he explains. “I like the attacking style of the team, as well as the attitude of those who run the club in regards to the fans and to the academy.”
He says the Yellows lifting the Europa League earlier this year in Gdansk was a real highlight for him: “I was very happy about the team’s victory in the Europa League. We had been waiting for this cup for a very long time and it finally happened. All Villarreal fans are waiting for many more happy and pleasant moments like that in the future.”
Here at Villarreal CF, we are telling the stories of our international fans through the ‘Yellows Around The World’ series.
